Hip and waist measurements were taken with a flexible tape measure, with maximum sensitivity for 0.1cm, at the circumferences established at the level of the iliac crests and at the equidistant point between the iliac crests and the costal ridge, respectively.

The detection of systolic and diastolic HAS, isolated or analyzed together, in addition to the findings of TC > 170 mg/dL, LDL > 110 mg/dL and triglycerides > 150 mg/dL, were significantly higher in the presence of obesity when compared with the other groups.
